We are Maroon FM (MFM), the first and only pop, new media, FM radio organization in the University of the Philippines Diliman. We promote online radio as a medium to reach the UP community, and we aim to develop, train, and produce future radio personalities and contributors to the radio and music industry.
Founded in 2014, Maroon FM has grown to have 70 members, and has established its presence in the university. We broadcast live online, from 7am to 7pm on Tuesdays to Fridays. We have four shows per day: The Set Up, from 7 to 10am, The Up Side, which runs from 10am to 1pm, Free Cut, at 1 to 4pm, and finally, Tambay Hours, from 4 to 7pm. We also create playlists, mixes, and help promote Original Pinoy Music (OPM) and our local and unsigned artists. Every Monday, we release playlists with different themes per week through our platform, MFM Playlists. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we feature OPM artists on Constants, which aims to make listening to OPM a habit by suggesting 21 songs from different genres. The number 21 was chosen because it only takes 21 days to develop a habit and make something a constant way of life. Constants is Maroon FM’s way of supporting OPM and our different local artists. Lastly, we feature independent and undiscovered artists in our Unsigned segment every Wednesday.
To top it all off, we have an array of hosts for various events inside and outside the university, and our Maroon Jocks have hosted events such as the UP Fair, University Job Fair, Engineering Week, and many more. We also have DJs to hype up events and provide awesome mixes.
