Maroon FM's Unsigned Night

Last April 28, Maroon FM held Unsigned Night over at Jess' and Pat's Rooftop Café in Marikina. The event was organized with the aim to be an opportunity for upcoming, unsigned bands and artists to perform and also to be an event for people to chill and enjoy the performances of the local acts. When the project heads Angela Gomez and Percy Tolentino first came up with the idea with their fellow orgmates, what they first had in mind was a smaller, and more humble event. But as the planning and preparations went on, they knew that it would be a more ambitious and complex event than what they had envisioned from the start. But all the hard work paid off. The venue was nearly packed with the audience huddled together around the performers. Some were sitting down, their senses mesmerized by the music. Some were standing up, talking, laughing, and meeting new people. Others could be found enjoying great food ordered from Jess and Pat's Rooftop Café. Everyone was doing their own thing, but having fun in their own ways nevertheless. Even just the place itself seemed perfect for an event like Unsigned Night. It was on an open-air rooftop, where one would be greeted by the evening breeze and the mellow, gentle lights of the city. Even though the weather presented itself as a challenge when it rained a few hours into the night, the people and their unfaltering desire in watching the artists perform remained despite of the weather. We've seen some of the freshest unsigned artists with the likes of Nathan Futalan, Stephen Duma, Mellow Yellow, Reggie Bayot, Ace Yabut, John Maano, Yani Arguelles, Dino Robles, Babs Milante and Caleb Gasilao, Eunice David and Christine Saret, and Alexia Cryze. We also had with us your favorites with Cholo Dela Cruz with Lou Paringit, Hug Us We're Trees, Munimuni, The Ridleys and STLO making the night cooler and more special than it already was! Thanks for spending the night with us and with some of the upcoming unsigned artists that we know you'll guys will be hearing and seeing more of soon! Missed it, or just can't get enough of it?
